Overview

WPiko Chatbot is a powerful WordPress plugin that integrates OpenAI’s language models into your website. This guide covers the installation process for both the free version available on WordPress.org and the premium Pro version available from the WPiko website.

  • WordPress version 6.0 or higher
  • PHP version 7.0 or higher
  • MySQL version 5.6 or higher
  • Installing the Free Version

    Method 1: Installation via WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)

  • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  • In the search box, type “WPiko Chatbot”
  • Look for the plugin with the WPiko Chatbot icon and click “Install Now”
  • After installation completes, click “Activate” to enable the plugin
  • Navigate to the newly created WPiko Chatbot menu in your dashboard to begin configuration
  • Method 2: Manual Installation

  • Download the plugin ZIP file from WordPress.org
  • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  • Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page
  • Click “Choose File” and select the downloaded ZIP file
  • Click “Install Now”
  • After installation completes, click “Activate” to enable the plugin
  • Navigate to the newly created WPiko Chatbot menu in your dashboard to begin configuration
  • Method 3: FTP Installation

  • Download the plugin ZIP file from WordPress.org
  • Extract the ZIP file to your computer
  • Using an FTP client, upload the extracted wpiko-chatbot folder to your WordPress site’s /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  • Find “WPiko Chatbot” in the list and click “Activate”
  • Navigate to the newly created WPiko Chatbot menu in your dashboard to begin configuration
  • Installing the Pro Version

    Prerequisites

  • The free version of WPiko Chatbot must be installed and activated first
  • A valid license key purchased from WPiko.com
  • Installation Steps

  • Download the WPiko Chatbot Pro ZIP file from your account on WPiko.com or from the purchase confirmation email
  • Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  • Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page
  • Click “Choose File” and select the downloaded WPiko Chatbot Pro ZIP file
  • Click “Install Now”
  • After installation completes, click “Activate” to enable the plugin
  • Navigate to WPiko Chatbot > License to activate your license key

  • Navigate to WPiko Chatbot > License in your WordPress dashboard
  • Enter your license key in the provided field
  • Click “Activate License”
  • If successful, you’ll see a confirmation message and your license status will show as “Active”
  • Upgrading

    Upgrading the Free Version

  • Back up your WordPress site before upgrading
  • When a new version is available, you’ll see an update notification in your WordPress dashboard
  • Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  • Find “WPiko Chatbot” and click “Update Now”
  • The plugin will automatically update while preserving your settings
  • Upgrading the Pro Version

  • Back up your WordPress site before upgrading
  • The Pro version includes automatic updates via the GitHub integration
  • When a new version is available, you’ll see an update notification in your WordPress dashboard
