At wpiko.com, we are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your data when you visit our website or use our products, including the WPiko Chatbot Plugin.

By accessing wpiko.com or purchasing our products, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue using our services.

When you interact with our website, we may collect personal information, including:

  • Pages viewed and time spent on the site
  • Cookies and tracking technologies (see Section 6 below)

c. License Key Information

For our plugin licenses, we collect:

  • License keys associated with your purchases
  • License activation records including domain names
  • License expiration dates and renewal history
  • Number of allowed and active URLs per license
  • Usage data related to license activations and deactivations

d. Chatbot Data Collection

When using the WPiko Chatbot Plugin, we may collect:

  • Chat transcripts (conversations between users and the chatbot)
  • User queries and responses provided by the AI

The collected data helps us improve the chatbot’s performance and provide more accurate responses.

e. Marketing Data

If you subscribe to our newsletter or agree to receive promotional communications, we may collect your email address for marketing purposes. You can opt-out of receiving such emails at any time (see Section 7).

f. Unfinished Checkouts

If you enter your email address at checkout but do not complete your order, our website saves the details you have entered in the checkout form so far (such as your name, email address, phone number and the products in your cart). We use them to send you a few reminder emails with a link back to your cart, based on our legitimate interest in helping you complete a purchase you started. The reminders stop when you complete your order, and you can stop them at any time with the link in the email or by contacting us. This information is stored on our website, is not shared with third parties, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfill product purchases.
  • Send you reminder emails if you start checkout but do not complete your order (see Section 1f).
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Manage your account and offer personalized services.
  • Improve and optimize our website and products.
  • Analyze user behavior to enhance functionality.
  • Send promotional emails, updates, and newsletters (with your consent).
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

a. License Management

Our license management system:

  • Generates unique license keys for each purchase
  • Monitors and tracks license usage across domains
  • Validates license authenticity
  • Manages license renewals and upgrades
  • Sends automated notifications about expiring licenses
  • Processes domain activations and deactivations

b. Chatbot Usage

The WPiko Chatbot Plugin may store chat histories and user inputs to enhance future responses and to provide better customer support. Data from these interactions is not shared with third parties without your consent.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. However, we may share your data under the following circumstances:

a. Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us:

  • Process payments (e.g., WooCommerce payment gateways)
  • Manage email marketing campaigns
  • Provide hosting and analytics services
  • Support customer service operations

These service providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use your data for any purposes other than assisting us in delivering our services.

b. Legal Compliance

We may disclose personal information if required by law, such as to comply with a court order, legal process, or government request.

c. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of the business transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

If you wish to delete your account or request the removal of your personal data, please contact us at support@wpiko.com. Certain information may be retained as necessary to comply with legal obligations.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes:

  • SSL encryption for secure data transmission.
  • Secure payment processing through WooCommerce’s integrated services.
  • Regular security updates to our website and products.

While we take these precautions, no data transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data, but we strive to protect it to the best of our ability.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage. Some cookies are essential to run wpiko.com. Others are optional, and we only use them with your consent: when you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and no optional cookies are set until you choose.

a. Essential Cookies (always on)

  • Login and account (wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*): keep you signed in to your account. Session, or 14 days if you choose “Remember me”.
  • Cart and checkout (wp_woocommerce_session_*, woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart): remember your cart. Up to 2 days.
  • Payment security (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid): set by Stripe, our payment provider through WooPayments, to prevent fraud when you pay. Up to 1 year.
  • Chatbot (wpiko_chat_session): links your messages to the same conversation when you use the chat on this site. 30 days.
  • Cookie choice (wpiko_consent): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. 6 months.

b. Analytics Cookies (only with your consent)

These help us understand how visitors find and use wpiko.com, so we can improve it. We only set them if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner.

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): provided by Google Ireland Limited. Counts visits and shows which pages are used and how visitors move through the site. Up to 2 years. Google may process this data outside the EU; such transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google’s standard contractual clauses.
  • Order attribution (sbjs_*): set by WooCommerce to record how you arrived at our site (for example from a search engine or another website), so we can see which sources lead to purchases. This information stays on our site. For your current browser session.

We use Google Consent Mode. If you do not accept, Google Analytics sets no cookies, and our site may only send Google limited, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed) without identifiers that can recognise you.

c. Chatbot Storage in Your Browser

When you use the chat, it keeps the current conversation in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. If you enter your name or email in the chat, they are kept in your browser’s local storage so you do not have to type them again, along with chat preferences such as sound. This storage is needed for the chat you asked to use and is never used for tracking.

d. Advertising Cookies

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not allow Google to use our analytics data for ads personalisation.

e. Changing Your Choice

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you turn analytics off, we remove the analytics cookies listed above from your browser. We remember your choice for 6 months, and we ask again if the way we use cookies changes.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

a. Access and Correction

You can request access to your personal information and ask us to correct any inaccuracies.

b. Data Deletion

You can request the deletion of your personal information. Please note that certain data may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

c. Marketing Preferences

You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or contacting us at support@wpiko.com. You can stop unfinished-checkout reminders (see Section 1f) the same way, using the link in the reminder email or by contacting us.

d. Cookie Preferences

You can accept or reject analytics cookies in the cookie banner, and change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies may stop login, the cart or checkout from working.

e. Data Portability

In certain circumstances, you can request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@wpiko.com.

8. GDPR and CCPA Compliance

a. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

For users based in the European Union (EU), we comply with the GDPR. This means:

  • We only process your personal data when we have a lawful basis to do so (e.g., your consent, fulfilling a contract, or complying with legal obligations).
  • You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data.

b. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

For California residents, we comply with the CCPA. This means:

  • You have the right to request information about the personal data we collect, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal data).
  • You can request the deletion of your personal data.

To submit a request under the GDPR or CCPA, please contact us at support@wpiko.com.

9. Children’s Privacy

wpiko.com is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our website after such changes signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Contact Information
