Overview

This page explains what happens to your data when you deactivate or delete WPiko Chatbot, and how to remove everything if you want a clean uninstall.

Deactivating

Deactivating keeps all your settings and conversations. When you click Deactivate, an optional feedback form asks why you’re leaving, for example “I couldn’t get it working” or “The answers weren’t good enough”.

  • Skip & deactivate sends nothing.
  • Submit & deactivate sends your reason and comment to wpiko.com, with basic technical details (plugin, WordPress and PHP versions, site language, how far setup got, days since install).
  • Your email and site address are only sent if you tick You can email me about this.

Deleting the Plugin

By default, deleting the plugin keeps your settings and conversations, so nothing is lost if you reinstall later. Only temporary data is removed: caches, connection status and the User Limits counters table.

Removing Everything

  1. Go to WPiko Chatbot → Manage & Tools → Debug Log and scroll to Plugin data.
  2. Tick Delete all WPiko Chatbot settings, conversations and logs from this site when the plugin is deleted.
  3. Click Save preference.
  4. Deactivate and delete the plugin from Plugins.

This removes all wpiko_chatbot_ settings and the plugin’s database tables (conversations, conversation details, instructions and Q&A pairs). On multisite, it applies to every site in the network.

Removing Files from OpenAI

Files you uploaded to OpenAI stay in your OpenAI account, even after a full uninstall. This includes Quick learn pages, documents, Scan Website and Q&A files, and product files. To remove them, do this before deleting the plugin:

  1. Go to Setup & AI → AI Configuration.
  2. In Vector Store Information, click Delete to remove the knowledge base and its files.

You can also delete files and vector stores directly in your OpenAI dashboard, and revoke the API key there.

WPiko Chatbot Pro

Delete your license from Pro Features → License Activation before removing Pro, so you can use it on another site. Pro’s settings also start with wpiko_chatbot_, so they’re removed by the “Delete all data” option when the free plugin is deleted.
