Overview
The Dashboard is the first screen of WPiko AI Chatbot. It shows at a glance whether your chatbot is working, what’s left to set up, and what visitors have been asking. Open it from WPiko AI Chatbot → Dashboard in the WordPress sidebar.
Chatbot Status
The badge at the top shows the overall state:
- Chatbot Active: everything works.
- Needs Attention: a problem was found, for example no OpenAI credit. See Attention required below.
- Setup Required: no OpenAI API key yet. Click Start the setup wizard to finish setting up in about 5 minutes (see Setup Wizard).
Run setup again opens the Setup Wizard at any time, even after setup is done.
Stats
- Total conversations: all recorded chat sessions.
- Total messages: visitor and assistant messages.
- Unique users: registered users and guest sessions.
- Today’s conversations: chat sessions with activity today.
For charts, locations and trends, see Analytics (Pro).
Configuration Status
Configuration status shows how ready your chatbot is. A progress bar counts how many of the four essentials are done, and every row links straight to its setting.
| Essential | What it shows |
|---|---|
| OpenAI connection | Connected, Not connected, or “Connected, but OpenAI is refusing requests” (for example no credit or a rejected key). Links to AI Settings → API Connection. |
| AI model | The model your chatbot uses. Links to AI Settings → Model & Knowledge. |
| Knowledge base | What the chatbot can answer from, such as Quick learn pages, files, scanned content, Q&A pairs and the product catalog. “Empty, so answers will be generic” means it has nothing to learn from yet: click Add content. |
| Visible on your site | “Floating chatbot on every page”, the page that has the shortcode, or “Not shown on your site yet” with a Turn on link. |
Optional Features
Below the essentials, compact chips show whether optional features are On or Off: Proactive greeting, Sound notifications and Transcript download. Click a chip to open its setting.
Without Pro, Email capture, Contact form and Product cards show a PRO chip that opens the pricing page. With WPiko AI Chatbot Pro 2.1.2 or newer, the chips show your Pro features (including the Mobile app) and your license status instead.
Attention Required
When the chatbot can’t answer visitors, or something in the last 24 hours needs a look, Attention required explains the problem with a button to fix it. Examples:
- Your OpenAI account has no credit
- OpenAI rejected your API key
- Your OpenAI account cannot use the selected model
- Your chatbot is not visible on your site yet
- Conversation storage is unavailable
When nothing is wrong, it says Everything looks good. See Troubleshooting the OpenAI Connection for what each warning means.
Recent Activity
Recent activity lists the latest conversations. Click one to open it directly in Conversations, or click View all. Each row shows:
- The visitor’s name, or Guest
- How long ago they chatted (hover for the exact time) and the number of messages
- An Error marker if the conversation ended in an error
- The email address, when the visitor left one
- Where guests are chatting from (with location analytics in Pro)
Before anyone has chatted, a link lets you open your site and try the chatbot yourself.
For Developers
Add-ons can list their own features as chips with the wpiko_chatbot_dashboard_features filter. Rows added through the older wpiko_chatbot_dashboard_config_status action still appear. See Developer Hooks and Filters.
