Overview

Quick learn from your pages teaches your chatbot about your business from your own website. Tick up to 10 pages, and the chatbot answers questions using their content. It’s free, takes seconds, and uses no AI tokens to set up: the page text is copied into one knowledge file in your OpenAI vector store.

You’ll find it in the Setup Wizard (step 2) and in WPiko Chatbot → Setup & AI → AI Configuration.

Teaching Your Chatbot Pages

  1. Open the Quick learn from your pages panel. Your published pages are listed, with the most useful ones first (your homepage and pages like About, FAQ, Contact, Shipping or Pricing), plus their word count.
  2. Tick the pages your chatbot should know about. The counter shows how many you’ve selected (up to 10).
  3. Click Teach my chatbot these pages. This can take up to a minute.

When it’s done, you’ll see “Your chatbot knows N pages (updated X ago)”, and learned pages get a Learned badge. Up to 20,000 characters of text are used from each page.

Keeping It Up to Date

  • When you edit a learned page, the panel shows: “Some of these pages changed since your chatbot last learned them.” Click Update what my chatbot knows to refresh.
  • To add or swap pages, change the ticks and click Update what my chatbot knows.
  • To remove everything, untick every page and click Remove these pages from my chatbot.

Quick Learn vs. Scan Website (Pro)

Both can be used together. A page scanned with Scan Website is marked Covered by Scan Website and removed from Quick learn automatically, so nothing is stored twice. The list updates by itself when pages are scanned or scan files are deleted.

Tips

  • Choose pages with facts visitors ask about: services, prices, shipping, returns, opening hours, contact details.
  • Pages that are mostly images or sliders have little text to learn from. Upload a document in File Management instead.
  • Only published Pages are listed (not posts or products). For products, use WooCommerce Product Sync (Pro).

Troubleshooting

  • “No published pages found”: publish a page (for example About or FAQ), or upload a document in File Management.
  • “The selected pages have no readable text”: choose pages with more text, or upload a document with your business information.
  • “Something went wrong”: check Manage & Tools → Debug Log and your OpenAI connection, then try again.

Developers: change the page limit with the wpiko_chatbot_site_knowledge_page_limit filter and the words used to suggest pages with wpiko_chatbot_site_knowledge_priority_words.
